Direct Action
Rachel: Jim and I are driving to the DNC in our own cars. We will be leaving from Cary at 7:00am Sunday 9-2-12 and returning that same night. We can each take 3 passengers in our cars. Email me at OccupyStudy@gmail.com if you are interested in riding with us or following behind us in your own car. Also, I am going to apply for a permit for the Capitol for October 13 for our one-year anniversary celebration.
Finance
Dee: I am going to make water bottles for the DNC and our one-year anniversary as a fundraiser for Occupy Raleigh.
Proposals
Proposal to allow BT admin permissions on our sites without having to appear at GA. Passed.
Proposal to allow Rachel to be forum admin and website (occupyraleigh.org) admin and to have passwords for Gmail and the Occupy the Airwaves UStream. Passed.
Announcements
Derek: Charles and I went to a meeting with the Teamsters at the AFL-CIO Wednesday night. This Thursday at 6:00pm there will be a protest at the Costco at Wake Forest and Six Forks. Palermo Pizza workers are on strike and Palermo is not negotiating with them. This protest is to put pressure on Costco to lean on Palermo.
Jim: There will be a Syria vigil tonight at 8:00pm at the Capitol.
Dyck: This November in California there's a chance to bring down Monsanto. Please continue doing things, like labeling food with GMO stickers, that help this cause.
Charles: Outreach and Direct Action meet every Friday night at 7:00pm at Morning Times. Next Friday is First Friday. Also, please get in touch with Katina if you want to help with SPARKcon.
Dee: If you want to get on the bus to the DNC, there are grants available for those who can't afford it. See the "March on Wall St. South" website.
