Direct Action

Charles: Direct Action met last night. We discussed September 17 (the one-year anniversary of Occupy Wall St.), October 13 (the Saturday before our own one-year anniversary, which is October 15), and SPARKcon (the art festival the weekend of September 15).

Proposals

That we do away with the old 24-hour rule for proposals, and from now on, any proposal posted before midnight the day before a GA will be considered at the next GA. Passed.

That we make an effort to come to the sidewalk and hold signs on September 17 and have a meeting that evening. Passed.

Announcements

Dyck: At SPARKcon 9-15-12, we will be walking around with posters that have prompts written on them for festival attendees to express themselves. At 5:00 we have the main stage to perform a gesture choir based on what gets written on the posters.

Charles: Today is Derek's birthday. Please call, text, or email him.

Josh: If you do not want to vote in November, please go to the polls and turn in a blank ballot or write in "no confidence" or something/someone else. It has a bigger effect than staying home, because someone has to count blank/no-confidence ballots.
